Dr Andy Price

Dr Andy Price (Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist)

After completing a broad specialist training in psychiatry, Andy specialised in the field of Child and Adolescent Mental Health. He has worked as a Consultant in this speciality for the past 11 years in East Sussex both within the National Health Service and privately.

Andy has pioneered the multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment of children with complex developmental difficulties in East Sussex. This has included developing specialist services for AD/HD (with Jenny Lyon) and Autistic Spectrum Disorders.

In the past 5 years Andy has acted as advisor to both Health and Education Authorities in the development of multi-agency protocols and guidelines for the management of AD/HD.

Andy has lectured on AD/HD and related topics to a wide variety of professional and lay groups: parent self-support groups, teaching staff, head-teachers, nursing / medical staff in primary care and mental health services.

As Clinical Director of a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service between 1998 and 2001, Andy was responsible for developing a number of projects in conjunction with Local Authority Education and Social Services.
