Synopsis
Children with developmental disorders can behave in similar ways for different reasons, which means that diagnosis can be very complex. For example, children with dyslexia and attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD) both have working memory difficulties and are slow at processing information, but the underlying reasons are different and require different forms of remediation. It is also important to know that children can suffer from more than one developmental disorder (over 50% of children with AD/HD have other special needs).
Understanding the causes and nature of special needs is the basis for good classroom management, and this intensive one-day conference brings together leading experts in the fields of autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia and AD/HD.
